AAWCC Kicks Off a Year of Service Projects

The MCC Chapter of the American Association of Women in Community Colleges (AAWCC) has hit the ground running with service projects this year. And, what a great way to network with colleagues across the College!

This Sunday, October 16, the MCC crew is Making Strides Against Breast Cancer. You can still join in. Meet at 9 am at Frontier Field in front of ticket window #3 to participate in the walk. Any questions? Call Susan Spinetti at DCC 262-1725.

All this week, AAWCC has been accepting donations for three families at Wilson Commencement Park who were evacuating following Hurricane Katrina. If you forgot to bring clothing or other products, you can still make a monetary donation at:

Brighton - Patty Ornt / Jennifer Kinslow (Counseling and Advising Office).
DCC - Pam Weidel in Student Services (5th Fl Communications Center).
ATC - Kristy Mooney Graves (ATC front desk).
PSTF – Theresa Schichler (room #220).

The Annual Thanksgiving Food Drive will take place November 15-23 to benefit families at Wilson Commencement Park.

Future plans include:
Go Red Day, American Heart Association, February 6, 2006

Clothing Drive, YWCA Working Women’s Wardrobe, March, 2006

Take Your Daughters & Sons to Work Day, Ms. Foundation for Women, April 27, 2006

Please join AAWCC and participate in these service projects where you can give back to our community while getting to know MCC colleagues.
