Donald B. Borbee, Adjunct Associate Professor & Father of Kathleen Borbee, Business Administration/Economics

The college family mourns the loss of Donald B. Borbee who taught for more than 20 years as an adjunct associate professor in MCC’s Business Administration/Economics Department. Dr. Borbee passed away on February 14, two months shy of his 90th birthday. Our condolences go out to his family, especially his daughter, Kathleen Borbee who also teaches in the Business Administration/Economics Department.

Dr. Borbee was a World War II veteran (U.S. Air Force) who, after 26 years of service, retired as a district manager for General Motors in 1982. He discovered teaching to be a rewarding way to share his life and work experiences with others. He began teaching marketing at MCC in 1991 and our students benefited greatly from his enthusiasm, expertise, and experience. Prior to coming to MCC, Dr. Borbee enjoyed a variety of adjunct teaching positions at colleges across New York state, including Mercy College, Pace University, and St. John Fisher College. He also taught annually at Webster University’s European Campus in Vienna, Austria.

Dr. Borbee earned his associate degree in business from Westchester Community College, a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Pace University, an MBA from Long Island University, and a doctorate of business administration from Nova University (Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.).

Funeral services were held on Monday, February 18. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.anthonychapels.com or to Kathleen Borbee, 15 Tobey Woods, Pittsford, NY 14534. Dr. Borbee asked that his memory and passion for higher education be honored through a contribution to the MCC Foundation.
