Help Us Celebrate Math Appreciation Month


Join the Mathematics Department as we host four activities in April in celebration of Math Appreciation Month.

Octa-Tetras: Celebrating their Beauty and Applications
Wednesday, April 10th
8-300, 12:05 pm – 12:45 pm
Aimee Calhoun, Mary Cameron, and Linda Carson will share the geometrical and structural beauty of the octa-tetra design. 

Dimensionality and the Hypercube
Monday, April 15th
9-134, 12:05 pm – 12:50 pm
Charlotte Aten and Jason Laske will present a Math Club project on hypercubes and display their created models. A discussion will follow.

Games – Come ready to play your favorite strategy game.
Wednesday, April 17th
11-204, noon – 12:50 pm
Demonstrate your skills and challenge others at the Ultimate Puzzle, Chess, Mancala, Chinese Checkers, Backgammon, Clue, Ricochet Robots, Set, and Blokus.

Amazing Math Race
Wednesday, April 24th
Race begins in 11-204, noon – 12:50 pm
Prizes will be awarded.  Reservation forms are available from your math instructor or the Math Department Office, 8-510. 

Complete a tessellation tile for participating in Math Appreciation Month activities.  Four winning tiles will be selected after the Amazing Math Race on Wednesday, April 24th.
