Community Fridays for a Cause - March

The next “Community Fridays for a Cause” is Friday, March 2nd.

The Rochester Chapter - Cystic Fibrosis Foundation will be the recipient of donations raised through the “Community Fridays for a Cause” program.

Since 1955, the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (CFF) has been the driving force behind the pursuit of a cure. The mission of CFF is to assure the development of the means to cure and control Cystic Fibrosis (CF) and to improve the quality of life for those with the disease.

For more than 50 years, through the support of donations, CFF has advanced the search for a cure. Today, thanks to remarkable scientific and medical breakthroughs, people with CF are living longer, healthier lives than ever before.

CF is considered an ‘orphan disease’ as only 30,000 people have CF in the United States.  Since 1950 the median life expectancy has been raised from less than 5 years old to slightly over 37 years of age (nationally). Donations largely support the necessary research to continue the work to find a cure for CF.

The Rochester Chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (CFF) supports 200 Cystic Fibrosis patients and their families in the 9 surrounding counties of Monroe, Wayne, Ontario, Genesee, Steuben, Livingston, Yates, Wyoming and Chemung.

Real progress has been made, but there is still much to do to advance critical research that will lead to a cure for CF.  This Friday, March 2nd wear school colors showing your support for MCC and the Rochester Chapter - Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.  Please give generously through the “Community Fridays for a Cause” program to help advance the research efforts of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation in finding a cure for CF.

Donations will be collected in each department.  All checks should be made out to the Rochester Chapter - Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.  Donation envelopes have been returned to your departments to be used again on March 2nd.  Please bring donation envelopes to Jodee Biller in the Controller’s Office no later than 4:00 pm on Friday, March 2nd.
