The Cure for Grade Roster Stranger Danger

On Friday you saw the symptoms of GRSD and pictured yourself immobilized, #2 pencil poised over your bubble sheet, frozen in horror at the prospect of having to grade 2 people you have never met. I promised a remedy and here it is…

Faculty Initiated Withdrawal Forms!

Application of one Faculty Initiated Withdrawal form per student by November 24 and your Grade Roster Stranger Danger is cured. Although the strangers will still appear on your grade roster, they will be rendered harmless by the fact they will already be graded with a “W” and you can just ignore them.

The secret is to submit your FIW by Wednesday, November 24, the day before Thanksgiving.

Check your latest class list or your 107 screen to see who will be appearing on your grade roster. If there are students on this list who you do not want to grade, now is the time to withdraw them. All students who appear on your final grade roster without a “W” or “AU” or “WI” preprinted on the roster need to be graded. The FIW is your weapon to control who on the list you have to grade and who you can ignore.
