Upcoming Deliberative Forum on Food Insecurity

On March 22, from 1230-150pm in Monroe B on the Brighton Campus, The Democracy Commitment at MCC, the Honors Institute, and The Politicos are co-hosting a deliberative forum titled Addressing Food Insecurity in Our Communities.

Because the forum will take the form of a deliberative dialogue, it will be driven by the contributions of those in attendance. The forum will be moderated by students trained in moderating deliberative dialogues. To help anchor the discussion, the National Issues Guide Land of Plenty: How Should We Ensure that People Have the Food They Need? will be used to explore various ideas on how to address food insecurity in the United States. For your review, please find the issue guide attached to this announcement.

This forum is free and open to both the campus community and the public. If you or your students are interested in attending, or you would like more information, please email Professor Dina Giovanelli (giovanelli@monroecc.edu) or Professor Joseph Scanlon (jscanlon1@monroecc.edu).
