DHS Awards $15K Grant to Homeland Security Management Institute


The Department of Homeland Security awarded MCC's Homeland Security Management Institute an additional $15K to continue work on the online version of the Community College Preparedness Program. The monies will be used to customize the online program for other participating community colleges and imbed their specific emergency plans for their colleges.

The goal of the program is to embed the program in 120 community colleges throughout the nation. HSMI is also hosting a “Train the Trainer” program May 30 – June 1 at the Public Safety Training Center.  Graduates will be certified to instruct the Department of Homeland Security Program at their local colleges. Please contact HSMI if you’re interested in becoming an instructor.

Those completing the online program are eligible for a monthly drawing for a free Homeland Security Safety Kit.  The following monthly winners should contact Sheila Manns to pick up their kits:
