I am sad to inform you that Fredrick Lipp, age 82, father of adjunct assistant professor, Janet Lipp, Information and Computing Technologies, passed away on June 7, 2015, after a short battle with pancreatic cancer. As a retired RIT professor of art, and Memorial Art Gallery (MAG) advanced painting teacher, he mentored hundreds of rising, serious artists in the community. Mr. Lipp has several large commissioned sculptures and paintings in collections in the area, including the MAG. He is known for one particular saying when conversing about art – “less is more.” He will be sorely missed. For details on his Life Celebration arrangements, please email jlipp@monroecc.edu.
