Fair Trade exibit at MCC's National Sustainability Day conference

On October 24th, in conjunction with the Monroe Community College National Sustainability Day Conference, a group of MCC Sociology 101 service-learning students taught by Shahin Monshipour plan to present a special program on Fair Trade. The program includes a lecture/slide and video presentation and a display featuring samples of Fair Trade goods produced by artisans from around the world (special focus on Peru and India). Students will also present biographical stories about women in poor countries producing safe, sustainable and beautiful products for the world.

Two local retailers who sell Fair Trade products in Rochester will be present and have a wide range of products for "show and tell".  Fair Trade coffee will be served and healthy international goodies will be offered.

The event is free and open to the public. Please distribute the information, join in and bring your friends.
