John H. Koch, men’s locker room attendant (retired)

It is with sorrow that I inform you of the passing of MCC retiree John H. Koch on December 4. John worked as the men’s locker room attendant in the Athletic Department from 1982 to 2004. He came to MCC after 25 years as a member of the Webster Central School District’s janitorial staff.

John was a very hard-working, dedicated man who loved MCC. He enjoyed interacting with students and his fellow employees. No matter where the NJCAA championship was held, John would use his vacation time to go and cheer on the MCC Tribunes.

John was predeceased by his wife, Mary, and daughter, Doris. He is survived by his daughters Melitta White of Bolton Landing, N.Y., and Karin Kolker of Baltimore, Md.; sister, Marga Bierfreund of Giessen, Germany; and several grandchildren.

A private service was held. As MCC was dear to John’s heart, contributions in his memory may be directed to the Monroe Community College Foundation, 228 E. Main Street, Rochester, N.Y. 14604.
