Congratulations to Melissa Zavaski and Melissa Phillips, both of whom presented compelling research at St. John Fisher’s first Feminist Caucus on Saturday, April 11. Zavaski presented her literary analysis of George Washington Custis’ play, Pocahontas: or, The Settlers of Virginia (1830), while Phillips discussed her visual analysis of Kiki Smith’s sculpture, “Lilith” (1994) on display at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Both students’ presentations grew out of work they did for Honors HMN 295: Female Icons in Popular Culture, Fall 2014. Both students will be presenting their work again at MCC Scholars Day on April 25.
