Inform Your Students: Late-Starting Courses and Financial Aid

The amount of financial aid is dependent upon the number of credit hours in which students are enrolled and attend each term. Financial aid regulations require that aid may only be distributed to students who are attending classes. To comply with these regulations, students must attend all of their classes to qualify for financial aid. Therefore, student’s financial aid won’t fully pay until attendance has been fully confirmed.

If students are enrolled in one or more late starting courses for the current semester, and their late start course is cancelled, their financial aid package will be adjusted. An adjustment of the student’s financial aid may result in a student owing a balance to MCC.
