Attendance

It is attendance time again! I used to send three page memos with attendance instructions and FAQs and telephone numbers to call if you got confused. It was a real ordeal! Anyone old enough to remember the days when you had to fill out the attendance bubble sheet?  And if you did it wrong, ALL students on your roster would be dropped. Yes, the good old days.

Now my goal is to explain attendance processing in as short a memo as possible. It is simple to do. Simple to understand. Simple for my office to process.

HOW TO ENTER ATTENDANCE:
(1)   Enter 1 in the ‘Attend Hours’ column if the student attended class.
Student will remain enrolled. Financial aid will be released.

(2)   Enter 0 in the ‘Attend Hours’ column if the student never attended class.
Student will be dropped. Financial aid will not be released.

(3)   Save your work.  Go back to the screen and check your work after hitting the save key.

WHEN TO ENTER ATTENDANCE:
(1)   No later than Wednesday, February 15th.  (Yes, you can enter it today!)
(2)   Obviously, later starting classes will have a later due date and a reminder email will be sent.

Remember that attendance processing is a required task, just like grading. We need attendance in order to issue financial aid to students. So, please jot the February 15th deadline on your calendar. Keep an eye on your e-mail because I will send gentle reminders as the date gets closer.

Email me at <mailto:eripton@monroecc.edu> if you have any questions.

Thanks.
