Janet Ekis, college relations specialist, Public Affairs, has earned her M.F.A. in Creative Nonfiction from Goucher College (Baltimore, MD).
Additionally, she was honored with the Christine White Creative Nonfiction award, which recognizes the best thesis in the Creative Nonfiction class. The theses were judged by Mike Sager, Writer-at-Large for Esquire magazine and a former staff writer for The Washington Post. Of Janet's thesis, he said: " 'Public Battle, Private Choice' gracefully employs the elements of literary journalism in telling a compelling story-- a piece that informs, entertains, evokes, and, ultimately, delivers the reader into a dramatic time and place through the magic of the written word.... This person is on her way."
Congratulations, Janet, writer extraordinaire!
