Spring Semester
Display: "The Edgar Allan Poe Bicentennial: 200 Years of Melancholy and Horror"
LeRoy V. Good Library Lobby Display Case
American author Edgar Allan Poe (1809 - 1849) is best known for his macabre poems and short stories ("The Raven," "Pit and the Pendulum," "Fall of the House of Usher," etc.), as well as for being the 'Father of the Modern Detective Story.'  Though not fully appreciated during his troubled lifetime, his reputation has grown with the years and has permeated all aspects of popular culture.  This display outlines Poe's life and represents his influence after death.

There are also lists of related books and DVDs in the library collection in the display for those wishing to explore Poe further.
