Hybrids: The Best of Both Worlds or the Worse? Audioconference

MCC will host the ITC audioconference entitled, "Hybrids: The Best of Both Worlds or the Worse?," scheduled for Tuesday, November 8 from 2:00-3:00 p.m. in the Board Lounge.  This audioconference will originate from MCC with presenters Randy Rezabek and Terry Keys.  Hybrid courses can offer the ‘best of both worlds’ by integrating online and face-to-face instruction or the ‘worse of both worlds’ if they are not fully developed and delivered properly. Monroe Community College started offering hybrid courses in the fall of 2003 in an effort to expand access to students and enhance the learning environment. Many campuses are now looking at this delivery option. To facilitate the discussion, Rezabek and Keys will start with an overview of our program, including a brief history, the hybrid proposal process, facility training and course development, marketing and delivery. Participants will then have the opportunity to share experiences, strategies, pitfalls and recommendations that their campuses have experienced.
