Compensation Increases for Non-contract Employees

At its last meeting, the Board of Trustees approved a salary increase for the non-contract employees of 1.75%, retroactive to September 1, 2015. Consistent with the College's commitment to transparency, I wanted to share more information with the College community regarding this increase.

Non-contract employees are not covered by any collective bargaining agreement; however, their compensation has historically been patterned on the Faculty Association’s compensation. The last wage increase received by the College's 23 non-contract employees and five college officers was on September 1, 2014, as the College was in contract negotiations with the Faculty Association. Because the Faculty Association contract was approved by the Board of Trustees at its February meeting, a recommendation was made to the Board of Trustees to provide an increase to non-contract employees equal to the increase received by the FA. This 1.75% increase represents the 1% increase provided to Faculty Association employees as part of the contract settlement and the additional .75% of salary increases that were provided to 44 Faculty Association members under the salary equity provision in the contract. The salary equity adjustments ranged from 0% to 21.9%, averaging 8.9%.
