In the Empire State Senior Games, held at SUNY Cortland on Saturday, June 10th, Jim Coffey and the his "Solid Gold" teammates won the gold medal for basketball in the 55-59 age bracket which had 16 teams. The annual tournament hosts teams from across the State and qualified the "Solid Gold" team a birth in the national Senior Games to be held in Kentucky in July of 2007.
Coffey attributes massive doses of Centrum Silver for preventing him from passing out when he hit his head on the rim during one of his many two-handed, behind-the-head slam dunks.
