Marie Fetzner Publishes and Presents


Dr. Marie Fetzner, Adjunct Assistant Professor, ESOL/TRS, co-edited with Anita Crawley a volume on innovations in services to online students in the Journal of Asynchronous Learning Networks (JALN, 17:1, January 2013). In the volume, Fetzner co-authored an article with Crawley, “Providing Innovative Service to Students Inside and Outside of the Online Classroom: A Student Perspective”, and Marie also authored an article, “What Do Unsuccessful Online Students Want Us To Know?” based on MCC’s twelve years of research on unsuccessful online students. Marie was quoted in an Education Sector article titled, "Calling for Success: Online Retention Rates Get Boost From Personal Outreach" by Mandy Zatinski. Marie was an invited virtual presenter at the 2013 PASSHE (Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education) Distance Education virtual conference on February 13, 2013. Fetzner's session was titled, "What Do Unsuccessful Online Students Want Us to Know: Monroe Community College's Online Retention Student Survey Results." Marie also served as a proposal reviewer for the 6th Annual International Symposium on Emerging Technologies for Online Learning (ET4OL) that was held in Las Vegas, Nevada on April 9– 11, 2013.
