Changes to MCC Health Studies A.S. Program Bring More Flexibility for Students

In the past, the MCC Health Studies degree has served as a foundation for students transitioning into a number of health-related transfer programs.   The program has now become even more flexible in terms of meeting students’ needs.  Previously, Public Speaking was a required course for the degree.  Now, Public Speaking or any SPC speech communication or foreign language, including ASL can be taken.  The program now offers an alternative to HED208 Chronic and Communicable Diseases.  HED210 Complementary, Alternative and Integrative Approaches to Health and Wellness can be taken in its place.  The math requirement was also opened up to allow MTH160 or higher.   Other electives within the program that allow for flexibility include two social science electives, a literature elective and three general elective courses.    For more program details visit:  https://www.monroecc.edu/depts/pe/programdata.htm?Health+Studies  For questions about the degree program, contact Health Studies Program Coordinator, Cristin Finch, at "mailto:cfinch@monroecc.edu".
