Rochester Biomedical Experience White Coat Ceremony

Please join us on Thursday, July 14th from 4:30 – 6:00 pm as MCC and RIT welcome our first group of students into the Rochester Biomedical Experience’s summer internship during a traditional White Coat Ceremony to be held in the Warshof Conference Center, Flynn Campus Center, on the Brighton Campus. The White Coat Ceremony is the official opening event of the students’ summer research internship. During the ceremony, students receive their personal laboratory coats, indicating that they are scholars. Guests will include students, parents, family members, high school teachers and counselors, and staff and faculty from MCC and RIT.

The Rochester Biomedical Experience is a National Institutes of Health Bridges to the Baccalaureate program between Monroe Community College and Rochester Institute of Technology. The program is designed to encourage and support under-represented minority high school students in continuing their education by studying science at MCC and then transferring to RIT to pursue bachelor’s degrees in a biomedical field. Over the past academic year, 15 high school students participated in a monthly Saturday College program that exposed them to various aspects of scientific research.

For more information or to RSVP for this event, please contact Shirley Rodriguez at extension 2584 or via email at <mailto:srodriguez@monroecc.edu>.

Thank you.
