Biology Curriculum Changes for Fall 2005

The Biology Department would like the college community to be aware of some significant curriculum changes that will begin to take effect in the Fall 2005 semester. Attached is a document (titled BIO Curriculum Changes 10.20.04) that outlines the timetable for the planned introduction of new course offerings in the Biology Department over the next several semesters. It also includes a time table for the planned phase-out of other courses.

Advisement letters that were mailed to all students in biology-related fields (LA16, LA18, LA20, LA 23, LA 24, Biotechnology) are available on the MCC Biology Department Web page, under "Programs and Course Sequences." These outline the changes in those advisement sequences that will take effect in the Fall 2005 semester.

Please take a few moments to look over these documents. The Biology Department is excited about the upcoming changes, and we are confident that they will improve student learning and success at MCC.

Please feel free to contact the Biology Department Chairperson Tim Tatakis, at extension 2332, or MaryJo Witz, Biology Department Curriculum Committee Chair, at extension 2733, if you have any questions about this planned transition process or courses offered by the Biology Department.
