On August 1st, Upward Bound celebrated the final day of its 2012 academic summer program. The program began June 25th with 30+ excited Upward Bound students, ready for a fun summer program. After a week of orientation, the students began classes. These classes were based around academic course work, writing, reading, math and science, as well as necessary skills like leadership, college preparedness, and study skills. The students completed 3 weeks of rigorous academic training on July 27th and enjoyed trips to the Buffalo Bill’s training camp at St John Fisher College and Letchworth State Park the week following. Staff are proud of the progress that our students have made throughout the course of the summer and feel like they are well prepared for the upcoming school year.
