NYS Police, Sperr Family Renew Support of Law & Criminal Justice Program

On September 9, Andy and Jean Sperr joined representatives of the New York State Police in presenting $2,000 to MCC President Anne Kress and MCC Foundation Executive Director Diane Shoger in support of the Andrew “AJ” Sperr Endowed Memorial Scholarship. The scholarship was established in 2006 to honor fallen State Trooper AJ Sperr, an alumnus of MCC’s Law and Criminal Justice Program. The scholarship helps students cover the costs of attaining their MCC degree in law enforcement and criminal justice.

Troop E of the New York State Police held its 38th Annual Trooper Foundation Tournament in July at Victor Hills to raise money for  scholarships at MCC, Aquinas Institute of Rochester and the St. Lawrence School in Greece—schools AJ Sperr attended.
