What is Cloud Computing?

You may have already heard the term Cloud Computing but you’re not sure what it means or how it pertains to you.  Cloud Computing is the foundation to the next generation of computing.  It is a network of networks to which all devices can connect. Cloud computing is a general term for anything that involves delivering hosted services over the Internet. This allows businesses and individuals to take advantage of hosted services and not have to become an expert in the implementation or maintenance of that hosted service. It allows for flexibility, pay-for-what-you-use, and it’s scalable to your needs.

However, with any new technology it is important to understand the risks, benefits and security concerns.

This month’s Security Tips Newsletter talks about the security and privacy concerns that must be considered before moving to cloud computing.
