Sign up for SUNY NY-Alert

In an emergency, MCC uses the SUNY NY-Alert system to convey emergency and safety information to students and employees to protect lives and minimize campus disruption. This is an opt-in system — employees and students must sign up for the service in order to receive emergency messages via SUNY NY-Alert.

Employees who opt in can receive notification of emergency situations via phone, fax or e-mail. In order to minimize the burden on MCC phone lines, you are asked to NOT use your MCC office phone number in the SUNY-NY Alert system. (In an emergency that warrants usage of SUNY-NY Alert, messages will also be sent directly to all of the College’s Cisco phones through an internal system.)

Can’t remember if you signed up for office phone notifications?

Log in to Banner (
https://www.monroecc.edu/pls/bpr1/twbkwbis.P_WWWLogin ) and then select:

1.      Personal Information

2.      Emergency Alert Contact Information (NY-Alert)

Then follow the prompts.

New employees who are signing in to Banner for the first time will automatically be asked to opt in or opt out of SUNY NY Alert. MCC strongly encourages all faculty, staff and students to participate in this mass notification technology to provide you with important emergency instructions in the event of a campus emergency or threat to the college community.

For more information, go to our SUNY NY-Alert web page,

Thank you.
