Refresher on Parking

The parking services section of the Department of Public Safety is happy to provide a few reminders for all college employees parking on the Brighton Campus.  Please note these procedures will also apply to those parking at the new Downtown Campus when it opens later this year.

All motor vehicles parked on lots owned by Monroe County and held in trust for Monroe Community College must be registered with MCC Parking Services or at a pay-by-plate station unless parked at a parking meter.  Vehicles parked at a meter always require payment for time at the metered space.  This applies to all vehicles even if they are registered with Parking Services.

Parking registration for full-time employees hired under either Civil Service or Faculty Association contracts are covered through those agreements.  However, full-time employees must still register their vehicles(s) online.  Those registrations are valid for the duration of their employment.

Part-time employees must register their vehicle(s) in person with Parking Services since the vehicle’s registration, photo ID and a discounted monthly fee of $6 is required to complete the transaction.  Multiple months may be purchased in advance if desired.

Just as a reminder, students attending MCC who are related to employees must still obtain a student parking permit.  For example, employees’ children are not permitted to use their parent’s ID or employee vehicle registration to park on campus.  If this occurs, these vehicles may be ticketed.  And remember, Lot V is for visitors ONLY.  This regulation is strictly enforced to provide parking for visitors to our campus.

The Brighton Campus traffic and parking regulations webpage gives a detailed explanation of the parking program. Any questions or concerns can also be directed to the Parking Services Office at extension 2700. We will gladly assist you with any special needs you may have, such as the issuance of temporary permits for guest lecturers, temporary use of an alternate vehicle, loading/unloading, etc.  This helps us to avoid unnecessary ticketing. Early notification to the Parking Services Office of any special situations contributes greatly towards meeting your needs as well as those of the College community.
