Dr. Young and Lomax Campbell Interviewed for Many Voices, Many Visions

Founding Trustee and Board Chair Emerita Alice Holloway Young, Ed.D. and Lomax Campbell (Economic Development and Innovative Workforce Services) were interviewed by 13WHAM anchor Norma Holland for the upcoming Many Voices Many Visions program. Dr. Young talked about the importance of education and shared the story behind one of her most prized possessions: a plaque that includes a picture of her mother who was a member of the 1906 graduating class of Hampton Institute (now Hampton University in Virginia). Campbell, an MCC alumnus and former Dr. Alice Holloway Young Intern, talked about how Dr. Young inspired him and the importance of education in his life.

Dr. Young included this historic plaque in a planned gift to the MCC Foundation. The plaque will ultimately reside in the Hampton University archives thanks to the work of Eric Johannisson (Educational Technology Services).

The program will air at 11 am Sunday, September 25 on 13WHAM and will be available on the station’s website following the broadcast. https://www.13wham.com/content/mvmv/default.aspx .
