A Prescription for Writing in the Health Professions

Have you ever gone to the doctor’s office for cold or flu symptoms and come away with a prescription that not even your pharmacist could read? Or how about that bill your insurance was supposed to cover, but the attending physician forgot to record the necessary billing codes, and now they are looking to you for payment?

The health professions are dependent upon accurate, concise and thorough communication, and when that communication breaks down or is missing things can get nasty. Why should you care? You should be concerned because it’s your health and well being that are at stake here. On Wednesday, November 16, the WAC Committee will present a student workshop emphasizing the need for clear, well written communication among health care providers, their patients and insurers. We have assembled a panel of professionals from the fields of nursing, nutrition, and chiropractic who will draw upon their experiences to present an informative workshop which you will not want to miss.

Please join us on Wednesday, November 16, 12-12:50 PM in Building 8, Room 8-200.
