Community Fridays for a Cause

The next “Community Fridays for a Cause” is Friday, February 14th.

The National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Upstate NY, will be the recipient of donations raised through the “Community Fridays for a Cause” program.

Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a chronic, often disabling disease that attacks the central nervous system. Symptoms may be mild, such as numbness in the limbs, or severe, such as paralysis or loss of vision. The progress, severity, and specific symptoms of MS are unpredictable and vary from one person to another. Today, new treatments and advances in research are giving new hope to people affected by the disease.  The MS Society, Upstate NY Chapter offers a range of different services to people living with MS.

The Care Management Program of MS Society, Upstate NY Chapter helps those living with MS maintain independence and quality of life by making referrals and connections with service providers in the community who can help them maintain physical, financial and mental health.

Multiple sclerosis creates a range of challenges that are not just physical, but financial. Some people living with MS face short-term financial crises which make it difficult for them to obtain critical equipment, home/auto modifications, or other items to accommodate their needs. The National MS Society, Upstate NY Chapter Financial Assistance Program offers resources to help alleviate the financial impact of MS.

These are just of sampling of the services people living with MS can expect from the National MS Society, Upstate NY Chapter.  Please be generous in your donations to support the compassionate assistance offered to the patients and families who seek care for this debilitating disease.

Let’s show our spirit and wear school colors on Friday to show support for our MCC family and the MS Society.

Donations will be collected in each department.  All checks should be made out to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Upstate NY.  Donation envelopes have been returned to your departments to be used again on February 14th.  Please bring donation envelopes to Jodee Biller in the Controller’s Office no later than 4:00 pm on Friday, February 14th
