Academies Model Pilot Update

Now that the fall semester is under way, I wanted to provide an update regarding the progress of the Academies model pilot at MCC.

MCC is adopting the Academies model as a means of providing students with intentional, structured pathways to help them reach their academic goals. Students will be accepted, enrolled, and advised based on their intended major through one of six distinct academic pathways (schools). This model provides students a “home” in their respective school, and provides them with focused academic advising, career exploration, high impact classroom experiences, and learning communities.

The six schools within the Academies model are described below:

Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) and Applied Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (Applied STEM)

If you are interested in science, math, technology, engineering and how to build and repair things, consider the School of STEM and Applied STEM.
