CAB is cordially inviting you to attend Zach Wahls presentation - What Makes A Family?

Zach Wahls:  What Makes A Family?

Wednesday, April 17, 2013 from NOON to 1:30 p.m. in the Warshof Conference of the R. Thomas Flynn Campus Center, Monroe A&B

This event is FREE – please see attached flyer.

"What Makes a Family?"  Zach Wahls tried to answer that very question when he testified before the Iowa House Judiciary Committee in January, 2011.  The son of two lesbian mothers, the 19-year-old University of Iowa engineering student had no idea that his heartfelt testimony against the ban on gay marriage would spread like viral wildfire, and even land him on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, The Daily Show and the opportunity to introduce the President of the United States at the Democratic National Convention.

Zach shares a story that has never before been told, and offers a fresh, bold perspective on a recently rekindled -- and always contentious-- issue: gay marriage.  Here is his speech: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-ul8ukaIrT4

Like any family's story, his is one of highs and lows, laughs and tribulations.  No matter your thoughts on marriage equality in our country, you'll walk away with a new perspective and something to think about.

Zach Wahls is a profound young leader and public speaker.  CAB believes that you and the students in your classrooms would benefit from listening to this speaker.  This is a one time opportunity to listen to such a young dynamic, unique public figure.  I strongly urge you and your students to attend this event and listen to this inspiring young man.

See you there!
