"Working Wardrobe" Collection - A Great Success!

The Monroe Community College Chapter of the American Association for Women in Community Colleges (AAWCC) is proud to report a successful professional clothing drive to support the YWCA’s Working Wardrobe Program.

In our first year, the project yielded nearly 600 articles of clothing donated by faculty, staff and students at the Damon City Campus, Applied Technologies Center, Public Safety Training Facility and the Brighton Campus.  This clothing helps women in our community who do not own professional clothing that is required to re-enter the workforce.

“We are thrilled with the response to this new project and can assure you it will be an annual event with the AAWCC,” commented Kelley Bennett, chair of the AAWCC Service Committee.  Kelley personally thanks her co-chairs Marilyn Rosche and Diane Shoger, who were instrumental in the success of this event.

The entire Service Committee thanks the following people in addition to all those who contributed items: Anita Cooper-Molinero, site coordinator, Public Safety Training Facility; Kate Schiefen, site coordinator, Applied Technologies Center; Alberta Lee, Sherry Parks, Margaret Murphy and Charlotte Downing, site coordinators, Brighton Campus; and Bill Skehan for delivery.
