Dana K. Miller ’76 to be inducted into Alumni Hall of Fame

Celebrate the accomplishments of MCC alumnus Dana Miller ’76 at the MCC Foundation’s 25th Annual Salute to Excellence dinner on Thursday, November 13. Tickets for MCC faculty and staff and their guests are available for $50 and can be purchased through the Foundation office at x1500 or mailto:mccf@monroecc.edu.

A life-long resident of Rochester, Dana graduated from Jefferson High School in 1974. He earned his associate in applied science degree in mechanical technology from MCC in 1976. Shortly thereafter, Dana began his career at Xerox Corporation while pursuing his bachelor’s degree from the University of Rochester and ultimately his MBA from the William E. Simon Graduate School of Business Administration.

After a 34-year career at Xerox, Dana serves as vice president of advancement for the Rochester Area Community Foundation. His leadership led to the creation of the Foundation’s African-American giving initiative and other successful fund raising programs that address critical community needs and improve the quality of life in the greater Rochester region.

Dana was elected to the Rochester City Council in 2005 and continues to serve as the Council’s vice president and an at-large councilmember. A dedicated volunteer, Dana served two terms as president of the 19th Ward Community Association and as vice president of Greater Rochester Fights Back. He serves on the boards of Action for a Better Community, Leadership Rochester, Rochester Economic Zone and Unity Health System. Dana facilitates strategic planning and diversity sessions for local not-for-profit organizations and gives back to MCC through philanthropic support of the MCC Foundation.

Funds raised at the Salute to Excellence support student scholarships and educational innovation at MCC. The event reception will be held at the Joseph A. Floreano Rochester Riverside Convention Center at 5:30 p.m.; the dinner and award ceremony will begin at 6:30 p.m. MCC employees may purchase tickets for $50 ($120 for general public) through the Foundation office at x1500 or <mailto:mccf@monroecc.edu>.
