Volunteer Month Spotlight - Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation

JDRF has always focused on a single goal—accelerating research progress to cure diabetes and its complications.  JDRF has repeatedly been celebrated as one of the most efficient charities due in part to the high level of involvement of volunteer parents whose children have been diagnosed.  Much of our activity is related to raising funds – such as the annual Walk to Cure Diabetes in May.  In addition to fundraising, I am involved in the governmental relations focus of the organization. We monitor legislation that could have an impact on diabetes care and research and make sure that our community and our legislators are aware of the impact of proposed.  It is important, but time consuming, to stay abreast of all governmental issues.  I am glad to be able to alert and summarize the issues for others who I know care but who are busy living their lives.

If you want to help raise funds for this great organization or be an advocate for legislative issues you can contact me at any time.
