Scholarships Available for Holocaust Memorial Museum Trip


The Holocaust Genocide Studies Project at Monroe Community College is offering scholarships to full- and part-time MCC students to attend its annual trip to the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum Trip. The trip will be offered during Spring Break, April 18 – 20, 2006.

This year’s trip costs $380 per person and includes non-stop, round-trip transportation by air to Washington Dulles International Airport and a shuttle van to the Holiday Inn Capitol, hotel accommodations (double occupancy), admission to the museum and a ticket to the theatrical performance of The Persians at the Shakespeare Theatre Company. (The itinerary is attached.)

If you are interested in a scholarship, please submit a letter by February 13, 2006 (maximum 500 words) demonstrating your unique interest in Holocaust, genocide and human rights studies to the Holocaust Genocide Studies Project at Monroe Community College, Attn: Linda Ingraham, 1000 East Henrietta Road, Rochester, N.Y. 14623. You may also hand deliver the letter to building 5 room 336 or e-mail "mailto:lingraham@monroecc.edu". Letters will be reviewed by the Project’s Advisory Board and scholarship recipients will be notified by February 16. Fifteen scholarships will be awarded.

Deposits are required to hold a reservation; $50 (non-refundable) is due by Tuesday, February 14. The final $50 deposit (partially refundable), registration and complete payment is due by Tuesday March 14, 2006. Deposits are payable at the Flynn Campus Center Information and Services Desk.
