The Diversity Council was pleased to support Professors Tokeya Graham and Dina Giovanelli on Monday, May 5th for an interactive exercise entitled, "Got Privilege?: Pull Yourself Up By Your Bootstraps".
The event took place at the Damon City Campus in the 4th floor atrium. Approximately 100 students attended the event, many as participants in the exercise. The exercise itself, intended to highlight relationships of power and social privilege, was well received by the attendees. It provided a visual display of theoretical concepts centered on issues of inequality.
Student, Tabatha Daggett, a participant in the event, was the winner of a bookstore gift certificate courtesy of the Diversity Council. Special thanks to Diane Cecero, Professors Tokeya Graham and Dina Giovanelli, and all of our student attendees and participants for an excellent event.
