MCC at the Puerto Rican Festival a Huge Success


For the second consecutive year, Monroe Community College had an information booth at the Rochester Puerto Rican Festival. This festival is a major cultural event for the Latino community in Rochester and upstate New York.  Volunteers staffed the booth and assisted 178 visitors with questions covering topics in admissions, financial aid, academic programs, college services and college readiness. Many alumni stopped by the booth to reconnect and share their MCC story. MCC pennants with college information in Spanish and English were created for the event and offered as giveaways – nearly 500 MCC brand items were disseminated over the three-day festival.

MCC also had a lively presence in the Puerto Rican parade on Saturday morning. Twenty five students, staff and friends marched under the black and gold.  A huge thank you to all who helped make this weekend's success possible. You truly are the best of MCC.   Photos can be found at
