Community Fridays for a Cause

The last “Community Fridays for a Cause” for this academic year is Friday, April 1st.

This Friday, dress casually and wear school colors!  The Rochester Education Foundation will be the recipient of donations raised through the “Community Fridays for a Cause” program.

The Rochester Education Foundation (REF) focuses on improving Rochester City School student learning and success through matching resources with needs, creating and supporting programs and initiatives that help students succeed, leveraging local and national funding in support of city students and by connecting businesses, graduates, retired teachers and community members with students in need of resources and support.

The REF works to introduce students to career opportunities and internships through collaboration with the National Academy Foundation. The REF encourages the love of reading and pride in book ownership through the distribution of thousands of books to students as well as sponsoring creative teaching and literacy projects for teachers.  The REF also encourages the love of music through the distribution of musical instruments to students, as well as offering musical mentoring.  These are just a few examples of how the REF strives to develop city school students.

This Friday, April 1st wear school colors in support of the work of the Rochester Education Foundation.  Please demonstrate MCC’s commitment to community with your generous donation to support the REF and its work in the lives of Rochester city school students.

Donations will be collected in each department.  All checks should be made out to the Rochester Education Foundation.  Donation envelopes have been returned to the department to be used again on April 1st.   Please bring donation envelopes to Jodee Biller in the Controller’s Office no later than 4:00 PM on Friday, April 1st.

Thank you in advance for your support.
