CSTEP Students Attend Medical Conference

On January 28th, students from the MCC CSTEP attended the Student National Medical Association (SNMA) Conference at the University of Rochester Medical Center. Students heard an inspiring keynote address from Gina Cuyler, MD, FACP Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine at URMC and met with current medical students. The conference featured sessions on preparing for the MCAT exam, medical school application Q&A session with medical student panel, simulation labs, and lunch with physicians. The CSTEP students, from the Biology, Chemistry, Nursing and Health Sciences departments, benefited from valuable hands-on experience and networking opportunities.

The Collegiate Science and Technology Entry Program (CSTEP) at MCC provides academic enrichment and research experience in order to increase the number of students from underrepresented groups who are pursuing professional licensure and careers in STEM and health-related fields.
