March 3rd Faculty Workshop With Poet, Fiction Writer Victoria Redel


A faculty workshop with  award-winning poet and fiction writer Victoria Redel will be held Monday, March 8, 2 - 3:30 p.m. All interested faculty members are encouraged to attend Moving Forward by Looking at Where You've Been and Honoring Objects on the Brighton Campus in Room 12-213. No RSVP is required.

Redel, author of the award-winning novel, Loverboy, has also written two books of poetry, Where the Road Bottoms Out and Swoon. She has received a fellowship in poetry from the National Endowment for the Arts and the Fine Arts Work Center. Her work has been published in many journals and magazines and her novel is slated to be an upcoming motion picture starring Kyra Sedgwick. In addition to being an accomplished writer, Redel also teaches at Sarah Lawrence College, the Columbia University Graduate Writing Program and the Vermont College MFA Program in Creative Writing.

Please Note: In addition to leading the faculty workshop, Redel will read from her novel, Loverboy, at noon and from her latest book of poetry, Swoon, at 7 p.m. in MCC’s Brighton Campus Theatre. Tickets for both readings are available at the Campus Center Information and Services Desk, Flynn Campus Center, Brighton Campus, and MCC’s Damon City Campus bookstore.
