COS-133

College Orientation and Success Strategies

COS 133 will enable students to transition successfully into the college environment by incorporating strategies designed to build skills and promote habits of mind that will sustain them throughout their lives and careers. Students will learn how to set goals, manage time, solve academic problems, learn and study in college, use MCC technology, and participate in First Year Experience events. By becoming informed and vested members of the College community, students will be able to self-advocate, access resources, establish relationships, critically think, and ultimately develop a strong work ethic for personal and academic success. Students will leave this course with the ability to make informed choices and with a clearer sense of their purpose, meaning, and direction. A student who has earned a passing grade for COS 133 cannot later earn credit for COS 101. Three class hours. .
