MCC pitches two shutouts
ROCHESTER - The MCC baseball team picked up a pair of shutout victories Saturday, defeating Mercyhurst North East 6-0 and 9-0 in Western New York Athletic Conference action.
The Tribunes were rained out on Sunday and finished the fall regular season with a record of 8-2. That's good enough for first place and a bye into the conference semifinals next Saturday at Dwyer Stadium in Batavia.
Grant Nadeau got the win in the opener, allowing just one hit in five scoreless innings. The freshman struck out three.
Keith Geil kept up hit hot hitting, going 2-for-4 with two runs batted in. Willie Pantoja added two hits and two runs batted in and Kevin Johnson had an RBI double.
Pat O'Boyle shut down the Saints in game two. The freshman allowed just four hits while striking out two.
The Tribunes put the game away with seven run in the sixth inning. Joe Polichetti drove in three with a bases-loaded double.
