MCC baseball splits twinbill
FREDERICK, MD - The MCC baseball team wrapped a successful southern swing Wednesday, splitting a doubleheader with Frederick CC. The Tribunes won the opener 9-1 before falling 5-4 in the nightcap.
MCC (21-10) finished 7-2 on the roadstand.
Michael Irving (Rochester, NY/Rush-Henrietta) picked up the win on the hill for the Tribunes. The sophomore right-hander struck out two over four innings.
Dan Kaplan (Rochester, NY/Penfield) paced the offense, going 2-for-4 with a double and a run batted in. Kaleb Cunningham (Canton, NY/Stockton) went 3-for-4 with an RBI, while Nate Grabowski (Pennellville, NY/Phoenix) also had three hits.
Kaplan also added two hits with a double and an RBI in game two. Cunningham chipped in with two hits as well.
