McGovern stays unbeaten as Tribunes roll
KEYSER, WV - The MCC baseball team won for the 10th time in its last 11 games, defeating Potomac State 8-3 to improve to 18-9 on the season.
Matt McGovern (Ottawa, ON/Gloucester) upped his record to 4-0 on the year, scattering seven hits over eight innings. The sophomore gave up three runs - the first runs he's allowed this season - and struck out four.
The offense was strong once again, collecting 16 hits in support of McGovern. Steve Muoio (Webster, NY/Webster Thomas) led the way with three hits and a run batted in, while Pat Corrigan (Rochester, NY/Rush-Henrietta) went 2-for-4 with three RBIs.
Nate Grabowski (Pennellville, NY/Phoenix) and Jamie Fitzgerald (Nepean, ON/Merivale) each had two hits and an RBI for MCC. Cory Brownsten (Lockport, NY/Lockport) and Kaleb Cunningham (Canton, NY/Stockton) had two hits apiece.
All nine batters in the starting lineup had at least one hit for the Tribunes.
