MCC men third, women 15th in preseason poll
Moore named a preseason All-American
ROCHESTER - The MCC men's basketball team, coming off its most successful season ever, is ranked third in the NJCAA Division II national poll.
The Tribunes finished 30-4 in '06-'07, reaching the championship game before falling to Mott CC in the finals. The 30 wins gave head coach Jerry Burns 400 for his career.
Sophomore guard Jonathan Moore (Cleveland, OH/Collinwood) was named a preseason First Team All-American. Moore averaged 12 points per game as a freshman, including the game-winning three-pointer against Cincinnati State in the national semifinals.
On the women's side, MCC is ranked 15th in the NJCAA Division I national poll. The Tribunes went 30-3 last season, finishing seventh at the national tournament.
