Brownsten, Rollins honored by NJCAA
ROCHESTER - MCC baseball player Cory Brownsten (Lockport, NY/Lockport) and softball player Samantha Rollins (Hornell, NY/Hornell) were honored by the NJCAA by being named national Players of the Week.
Brownsten hit .464 (13-for-28) as the MCC baseball team went 7-1 last week. Brownsten, who had four doubles and two homers, was 9-for-15 with runners in scoring position and is hitting .489 with runners in scoring position on the season.
 Rollins batted .769 (10-for-13) as the two-time defending national champion MCC Lady Tribunes swept a pair of doubleheaders last week. Rollins had nine RBIs on the week and leads NJCAA Division III with 34 runs batted in. Rollins led the nation with 101 RBIs in 2007.
