MCC golfers win first two tourneys
BINGHAMTON - The MCC golf team got the season off to a tremendous start, winning a pair of tournaments over the weekend.
The Tribunes fired a team score of 303 to capture Mohawk Valley CC's Hawk Invitational on Friday. They followed that with a 320 that was easily good enough at the Broome CC tourney Saturday.
Chris Malec (Webster, NY/Webster Thomas) finished runner-up at the Hawk, shooting a 74. Ben Finn (Gananda, NY/Gananda) and Jordan Wilson (Phelps, NY/Midlakes) both fired 76s while Taylor Page (Holley, NY/Holley) was right behind with a 77.
Page came through on a tough scoring day Saturday at Broome, winning medalist honors with a 76. Wilson finished second with a 78, while Malec and Finn shot 83s.
