Golfers finish perfect regular season
CORTLAND - The MCC golf team finished the regular season with two more convincing victories, winning the Red Baron Invite and the Panther Invite over the weekend.
The Tribunes (73-0) had a team score of 303 at the Red Baron on Saturday and a season-best 286 at the Panther on Sunday.
Chris Malec (Webster, NY/Webster Thomas) earned medalist honors on Saturday with a 74. Ben Finn (Gananda, NY/Gananda) and Jordan Wilson (Phelps, NY/Midlakes) each shot a 76 while Tyler Phillips (Williamson, NY/Williamson) had a 77.
Finn was on fire on Sunday, shooting a 1-under 69 to take medalist honors. Phillips shot 70 and Taylor Page (Holley, NY/Holley) shot a 73. Wilson rounded out the scoring with a 74.
The Tribunes have won all 10 events they have entered this season. Next up is the regional tournament May 11 and 12 at Cornell Golf Club.
