MCC golfers continue surge
ROCHESTER - The MCC golf team continued its tremendous start to the season, winning two tournaments over the weekend.
The Tribunes have won all six events it has entered this season.
MCC captured the Spartan Invitational, hosted by Cayuga CC on Friday. Tyler Phillips (Williamson, NY/Williamson) earned medalist honors with a 71.
Jeff Gasbarre (Webster, NY/Webster Thomas) fired a 75 and Taylor Page (Holley, NY/Holley) carded a 76. Chris Malec (Webster, NY/Webster Thomas) rounded out the scoring with a 78.
MCC shot 300 as a team, beating Cayuga by 15 strokes.
MCC topped the field at Willowbrook Golf club on Saturday with a 312. Second-place Erie shot a 343.
Malec led the way with a 74 while Phillips shot a 77. Ben Finn (Gananda, NY/Gananda) was third with a 78.
